I was fully shook to wake up on Sunday morning and see that it was snowing here in Columbus. Today’s voice note is about that moment of panic — and the many pandemic feelings encased therein — as well as my plan for coping with Winter-Induced Panic. It’s entirely possible I will freak out again the next time I see snow, but hey, it be like that sometimes.
We’ve earned the right to momentarily freak out when confronted with circumstances that remind us of some of the worst moments of the pandemic. But I believe that by staying in touch with ourselves and each other about what we’re thinking, observing and feeling, we will see our way through the winter months. Probably. No, no, definitely. We will definitely be fine. I mean, it’s highly likely. Could go either way but I’m pretty sure we’re gonna be alright. I think. Yup.
Also, Caesar has a brief cameo in this voice note. I think he heard someone in the hallway outside our apartment and wanted to make sure I knew that he knew. A perfect alarm system. Here’s a pic of him in his cozy new bed. Stay safe, stay warm, and stay ready, y’all. Just like Caesar.
