A woman can die from history,

second and third-hand hurts

from husbands who make a taboo

of the girl in you, who up and love-

leave you as soon as you say “save

me,” of course, a woman can die

before dying, of course, a dead girl

inside me is back at her grand piano,

bruising the white keys black, sorry,

something just caught ahold of me
