I hope this is ok to share: There’s a cartoon where one person asks the other abt the future. The other responds that he sees flowers in the future. He is asked, how do you know that? He responds, because I’m planting flowers.
I have been donating as much as I am able. I have also been “planting flowers” in other ways. I used to volunteer a lot, and have recently signed up locally.
Also, just making sure the people around me feel safe and protected. A good friend of mine has two trans kids, one who is young. I have been trying to help her feel supported. She is having a rough time and is just a KID. I let her mom know my home is a safe space for her kids if they need help.
This is going to sound weird but I fear the repercussions from sending out an evil hex. Everything has a cost. I like the "hope you have the day you deserve" vibe though.
Safety planning. It's simple but it makes a difference.
Get together and talk about what you can do in an emergency. Identify safe people, safe places, safe routes people can rely on when lethal cowards start shit. Form networks with those you trust to provide safety to others.
Take self defense classes together.
Talk about the resources and skills (food, water, shelter, CPR, etc) that you can offer to others.
For further inspiration I recommend Miracle at Midnight, which dramatizes the story of Danes who hid and evacuated Jews ahead of a planned raid by the Nazis. The individual actions they took were simple. They spread the word about the raid, offered people places to hid, arranged transportation, changed names on official paperwork, and donated money to cover boat fare.
Last night a Jewish friend/activist made the observation "we've always heard -- why didn't the Jews leave when they could" (Germany)." And we just sat with that for a moment. What this all means now for threatened people. Who could question anyone for leaving. It is frightening and real and we're trying to figure out how to fight back. P.S. Saeed, these friends are also in Cambridge, I hope your paths cross one day.
Get a VPN and a Proton email so you can organize and find resources for the ppl you know without being traced. Consider gifting them to ppl you know who are in the crosshairs bc of immigration or disability. Information is going to be importantly and being able to get it without putting oneself on a target list is vital.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot. A lot of the groups I’m involved in use Facebook or gmail to communicate. None of that feels like a good idea anymore.
I'm part of a group that is supporting a safe space for members of the trans community to come together, share a meal and be in fellowship with one another on a regular basis. These safe spaces are needed more than ever now in every community. I'm sickened to hear how the trans community is being targeted and blamed. What is even happening?!?!

Fuck yes. On a mostly unrelated note….can we get a Hex tutorial? I have a need to know.
The best hexes are blessings: May you have the kind of inflict on others.
Yes. I enjoy “may you have the day you deserve” when I can’t hex/bless with specificity, usually because of rage.

We can do this for each other.

I've heard that Signal is a good private messaging app.
Agree. You’ll be tracked.
Thank you! My heart feels you.💜
This @openlyfae guy threatened to rape me with a chainsaw because I said something in defense of Palestine 🇵🇸
Substack did nothing when I reported it. I have no faith in @substack standing up to the Nazis on Substack- because all Substack wants is Nazi $$$
