Glad you're back. I had wondered and was thinking about checking to see if somehow I had fallen off the list, or something had happened to you (was hoping something good, and sounds like it has been.)
Yay! So glad you are back. I have definitely missed your "voice" and am so glad to hear about your new adventures in teaching. I'm off Twitter and am now on Threads. Have you tried Threads? You were one of the highlights of Twitter for me and I miss following you.
This is an amazing list of prompts, thank you. Love the piece on the pain scale, too. I'll never think of it the same way again. Glad to have found your work.
You’re so inspirational!! Glad you’re back. As a very beginning writer with an interest in writing essays, I am excited to try my hand at the prompts in this piece. Thank you!
Thank you, Rita. If you have any questions I can use the podcast to answer, feel free to drop them in the comments. (Anyone or y’all can do this as well.) I want the newsletter to be useful.
These prompts are so inspiring and helped me get started on a project I was avoiding. Felt lighter and easier to write after reading your post. Thank you!🙏🏽
Yes, I missed you and when I saw your political Instagram post about Ohio I sent it to my friend who just moved there and asked if she was registered. She is. I told her what a great writer you are. Anyway glad to hear what you are up to!! So glad you're teaching and thanks for your list of prompts. Those students are lucky to have you at Harvard!
These are all such wonderful starters with so much potential for expansion and exploration. I particularly love the “write a failed essay”. There is something so freeing to know the only expectation for a piece is to fail, then there is nothing to do but succeed.
So nice to read your voice again!
Thanks for your patience, Jennifer! Good to be back.
I did miss you. These are great. I love interesting footnotes.

I was just being a Sagittarius.
I love these prompts! Thank you. Now I don’t have to want to be a fly on the wall of one of your classes.
Haha. I’ll be sharing more from our class as we go along. 💖
Thank you!

Thanks, Julie! It’s good to be back. I’m sticking with just BlueSky and IG for now.

I missed you so much.
You have no idea.

Also, you’re here? (By which I mean Boston, and Harvard Medical School) Interesting!
Yep! Artist-in-residence at HMS, living in Cambridge.
Welcome back 🙏🏿

Awwww. You guys!!! 🥹
The universe works in mysterious ways. I was just pondering what I should do to become a better writer and your Substack lands in my feed. ❤️
