Still breathing?
I’ll be brief.
You get a day and a night.
One full day, one full night to pout, mope, whine, beg, plead, stomp, bellow.
(If you’re Black, you get to do this through the weekend.)
And then, we get back to work.
This life is why we are here. We wanted to be of use in a time of great need.
(Black people, no one is coming to save us. We are all we’ve got.)
Let it out. Let it all out.
We won’t have time for this later so let it all out now.

This morning I grieve for us all. Spending time in silence and honoring my grief at present .. As an advocate/activist for the LGBTQ+ community and the mother of a transgender daughter I honor their grief as well. In my meditation this morning ,I will wrap my arms around all of our beautiful young trans people and their families. And yes the fight carries on.
